Local Arts Festival

The Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh is pleased to invite middle and high school students to participate in the Visual Arts, Crafts, and Photography competitions as part of our local Student Arts Festival, co-sponsored by the Woman’s Club of Raleigh and the Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh. This year’s Festival will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 at the Woman’s Club in Raleigh. We are also excited to introduce our first ever Student Art Showcase event on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. This will be a time when members of the public, including students, teachers, parents, and club members can view art entries from the show. We hope that many of your students will decide to share their talents with us!

How to Enter: Download guidelines and materials for each of the student competitions:

All entries must include a completed entry card in order to be judged. A sheet of entry cards are provided for your convenience, to copy and cut out to assist your students. Please print the copies that you will need for your students and then fill them out by hand.

Pre-Registration: To pre-register for the Arts Festival, please complete the form with all of the information that we need in order to register your students’ entries. In order to expedite registration, please return this completed list via email to the Arts Festival Chair by Friday, January 24, 2020. If you are unable to do so or if you have entries after the deadline, please contact the chair at the link above to discuss.

Item Drop-Off: Visual Arts and Crafts entries will be received on Monday, January 27, 2020 between 2:30 and 4:30pm at the Woman’s Club, 3300 Woman’s Club Drive, Raleigh, NC 27612. Teachers, please know the total number of items you are entering in the Arts Festival when you arrive.

Winning Entries: The First and Second Place winning entries of each competition at the local level will advance to the District VI Arts Festival at First Baptist Church in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, February 15, 2020. District first place winners will advance to compete in the GFWC-NC State Arts Festival on March 14, 2020 at the Mebane Arts Center in Mebane, NC

Item Pick-Up: All entries not receiving first or second place awards at this local arts festival will be
available for pick up at the Woman’s Club on Wednesday, January 29, 2019 from 2:30 to 4:00 pm.
You may also pick up your entries following the showcase; however, please be advised the art will not be resorted for convenience at this time. All entries that advance to subsequent festivals will be returned at the end of March, unless other arrangements are made. Details concerning Arts Festival Awards can be found in the guidelines.
