How do I get to the Governor Holshouser Building?
Directions to the sale: For easiest access to the Governor Holshouser Building (the Village of Yesteryear during the State Fair), enter the NC State Fairgrounds through Gate 9 off of Trinity Road. Turn right once through the gate and follow the road to the right. The Holshouser Building is the round building on the right.
What type of items can I sell in the Furniture Consignment Sale?
Don't let the name mislead you, we are looking for all types of home furnishings including tables, chairs, couches, rugs, lamps, pictures, table top items, and even electronics and exercise equipment. Click here to see additional items accepted.
Who is responsible for pricing my items? Is there a minimum price for items accepted?
You are responsible for pricing and tagging your items prior to consign drop-off. The minimum price for items is $10.00. You made bundle items if you don't feel the value of one single items is equal to $10.00. For example, a clay planter is paired with a set of gardening tools or a set of 3 wicker baskets vs. just one basket. Click here for Tips for Tagging.
How much money do I make if my item sells?
The consignor split for the JWC Furniture Consignment Sale is 60/40. As the seller, you earn 60% of the price of your item at the time sold and the Junior Woman's Club of Raleigh keeps 40%. If your items is marked to sell at half price and is sold on Sunday, then you split is on the sale price not the original price.
What is the cost to participate in the Furniture Consignment Sale?
There is a $15.00 consignor fee to participate in the sale. You can pay the fee when you drop off your items or have the fee deducted from your sale proceeds (recommended). This fee is non-refundable.
What does the Junior Woman's Club of Raleigh do with the money?
Proceeds from the Furniture Consignment Sale benefit the community through programs and projects of the Junior Woman's Club of Raleigh.
Does JWC of Raleigh accept donated items for the Furniture Consignment Sale?
YES, we welcome donated items for the sale!! If you have an items large or small that you would like to donate, please email and we will follow up with you to make the appropriate arrangements. The Junior Woman's Club of Raleigh is a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization. All donations to the club are tax-deductible. Click here for a copy of the JWC donation form and receipt.
