Description

The Arts Department is responsible for assisting the Woman's Club of Raleigh in coordinating the Local Arts Festival for local students and clubwomen. We are also passionate about donating our time and departmental funds to local charities such as, The Raleigh Little Theater. We encourage and plan events that the club can attend as a whole such as performances at the BTI Center. Our department works with Loaves & Fishes, an after school program for underprivileged children in Raleigh, to engage students in arts activities. For instance, for Halloween we had pumpkins donated from Ganyard Farms in Durham and provided the students with art supplies to decorate their very own pumpkin to take home. It was a HUGE success!

We are currently working on our Holiday project where we will be painting terracotta pots and filling them with small cedar trees to deliver to Mayview Retirement Center when we carol there in December. We really have a great time and are always looking for a helping hand. You don't have to be Picasso to fit in with the Arts Department! We just like enthusiasm!
