The President and the Awards Committee present Club Awards at the Induction/Installation Ceremony held in June. Club members participate by nominating their candidate for each award category. These are "traveling" awards, meaning the recipient receives and displays the award during the next club year. The awards remain the property of the JWC of Raleigh. |

The Junior Woman's Club of Raleigh Award
A silver tray is presented to the club member most active in all phases of club work other than community service.
The Girlie Compton Chesson Award
A silver wine cooler, donated in 1951 by friends of the late Girlie Chesson, is presented to the best all-around member.
The Lillian Phillips Taylor Award
A silver bowl, donated in 1955 in honor of Lillian Taylor who served as Club President 1946-47, is presented to the member who has contributed the most while holding a full-time job outside the home.
The Raleigh JWC Silver Vase
A silver vase, donated in 1939, is presented to the best all-around new member after her first full year of membership.
The Etheridge-Miller Award
A silver wine cooler, donated in 1973 by Carol OBriant in honor of her friends, Ann Etheridge and Wilma Miller, is presented to the member who best exhibits the spirit of friendliness. The recipient will be recommended by the club membership.
The Rachel Phillips Eagles Award
A silver water pitcher, donated in 1976 by Lou Mitchell in honor of Rachel Eagles, President 1976-77, is presented to the member who most successfully completes her task in the area of Ways and Means.
The Patricia Little Davis Award
A silver tray, donated in 1979 by Cindy Bratton in honor of Pat Davis who served the GFWC-NC in many outstanding capacities, is given to the member who has most successfully served the Federation on the District, State, or National
level.
The Outstanding Transfer Award
A silver tray donated by Pat Davis, a transfer who served as President 1978-79, is presented to the most outstanding transfer after her first full year as a member of the club.
The Mary Lou Willett Mitchell Award
A pair of brass candlesticks donated in 1979 by friends in honor of Lou Mitchell is presented to the member who exemplifies excellence in citizenship.
The Helen Bailey Silver Tray
A silver tray, donated in 1946 by Helen Bailey who served as advisor to the club from 1945-47, is presented to the community board representative who has most successfully completed her assigned task.
The Ada Morris Award
A silver bowl, donated in 1962 by Ada Morris who served as President 1945-1946, is presented to the department Chairman who has most successfully completed her task.
The Tobert-Lupton Award
A silver tray, given by Betty Lee Tobert who served as President 1968-69, in honor of Helen Lupton who served as President 1967-68, is presented to the committee chairman who has most successfully completed her assigned task.
The Williams Marshall Award
A silver bowl, donated in 1969 by Sally Beam Williams in honor of her friend, Ann Balance Marshall, first Junior to serve as President of District III GFWC-NC, is presented to the project of division chairman who has most successfully
completed her assigned task.
The Purser-Turner Award
A silver candelabra, donated in 1971 by Mrs. John White, Jr. in honor of Mrs. Roy M. Purser, Jr. and Mrs. Jerry M. Turner, President 1969-70, is presented to the member who best exemplifies Girl Friday to her President.
The Leslie Bennett Pressel Award
A silver bread tray, donated by the club in 1986, is presented to the member who has contributed the most while being a full-time homemaker.
The Sharon Stafford Greeson Award
A silver tray, donated in 1995 by Cindy Carroll Godwin who served as President 1994-95, in honor of Sharon Stafford Greeson who served as President 1987-88, is presented to the department chairman who presented the best overall program.
The Crowle-Stephano Award
A crystal pitcher, originally donated in 1995 by the Downtown Development Corporation, is presented to the club woman who most successfully promotes the visibility of the club within the community.
The Eleanor Ossman Oliver Award
A silver tray, donated in 1996 by Margot Houtz Murphy in honor of Eleanor Ossman Oliver, President 1992-93, is presented to the club member who provides strong positive leadership.
The Martha Wilkerson Rafferty Award
A silver wine cooler, donated in 1998 by Sandra Phipps Jones, in honor of Martha Rafferty, President 1996-97, is presented to the club member who exhibits a Commitment to Compassion.
The Ammons-Coster Award
A crystal bowl, donated in 2001 by Michelle Roberts Wood in honor of her friends, Leigh Sharp Ammons, President 1999-2000, and Lisa Johnson Coster, is presented to the club member who extends their hands and heart in kindness.
The Margot Houtz Murphy Award
A silver pitcher, donated in 2002 by Malinda Murphy Sink, in honor of Margot Houtz Murphy, President 1995-1996, is presented to the club member who best exemplifies the words of the Clubwomans Collect.
