The Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh is exciting to present the Second Annual Southern 5K Classic on Sunday, May 5th 2013 at 3pm . Race proceeds benefit the local community through the programs and projects of the Junior Woman’s Club of Raleigh, including this year’s major beneficiary the Interfaith Food Shuttle.
Our past fundraisers have been huge success thanks to the generous support of those like you. It is our desire to have an even more successful event this year. The Southern 5K Classic begins at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 5, 2013. Event check-in will be held at City Plaza, located at the 400 block of Fayetteville Street. The run will feature a 3.1 mile competitive race, which will take place rain or shine. For non-competitive runners, we will have a Stretch Clinic. While the runners are gone, we will have a 20 minute stretch class. Your registration includes a drink ticket and you will have the option of buying a barbecue plate from Cooper’s Barbecue. DJ Paul Fitts will get everything going at 2:30. We love his music so we sure to have a good time. Register now!
MAJOR BENEFICIARY
The Interfaith Food Shuttle has served our community for more than 20 years by providing food security for children, adults, families and the elderly. IFFS teaches, grows, prepares, cooks & delivers healthy, nutritious food to people experiencing food hardship. They currently serve Wake, Durham, Edgecombe, Chatham, Orange, Nash, and Johnston counties.
